Mission and Academic Background

My name is Alexander I. Velasquez. I am a contributing analyst at Seeking Alpha, and my mission is to perform fundamental analysis on stocks that result in actionable takeaways for U.S.-based investors. I followed a similar path to that of George Soros, in that I received my BA and MA in Philosophy (from UCLA and the University of Oklahoma, respectively), but I plan to get an MBA in Business with a focus on finance in the not-too-distant future to complete my education and hone my craft in writing about the business and financial sectors.
